FAQ
How much does a helmet cost?
$200–600+. The everyday build is a helmet whose visor buck is already on hand (ODST, Master Chief, War Master, Recon, Air Assault) with a full custom paint job, at $475. Premium helmets with many attachments run $525–575. Niche or custom-shaped helmets that need a one-off visor buck and file cleanup run $650–700.
How much does a weapon prop cost?
$175–2,250+, depending on size. Small sidearms (Magnum, Plasma Pistol) are $225–275+, medium weapons (Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, Shotgun) $400–575+, and large pieces (Rocket Launcher, Spartan Laser) $900–2,250+. Electronics and lighting are a separate add-on at +$125–350+.
How much is a full armor set?
$3,500–5,000+, fully custom sized to your measurements, painted and weathered, rigged and wearable. That includes a tactical base layer, elbow and knee covers, and slip-on shoes. ODST armor sets sit at the lower end of that range, $3,500–4,000, since soft tactical gear over a duty uniform is genuinely less work than custom-fitted rigid Spartan plates.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit starts the build. The remaining balance plus shipping is due after you’ve seen final photos and before it ships, so you never pay the rest without seeing the finished piece first. Installments are fine on either half. Payment is by PayPal Goods & Services or Stripe, and a small processing buffer is added to cover payment-processor fees and currency conversion.
What if something gets damaged in transit?
Spare copies of the small breakable parts — fins, ears, antennae, thin attachments — ship in the box alongside the originals, painted in the same session so they match the weathering exactly and drop straight in. Arms and legs are TPU, which flexes and returns to shape instead of snapping. For a large rigid piece that does crack, PLA glues back cleanly and I’ll walk you through the repair.
Raw kit vs. fully finished · what’s the difference?
A raw kit is 3D printed to spec, custom scaled to your measurements, with parts bonded and supports removed, ready for you to sand, prime, and paint yourself. A fully finished commission includes all of that plus sanding, a full paint job, and weathering, done by the maker. Sanding can also be added to a raw kit for an additional fee if you’d rather not do it yourself.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, worldwide. Shipping is quoted separately from the build price and confirmed once your piece is boxed and weighed, so any figure given upfront is an estimate. Any import/customs processing fee needed to generate the shipping label is paid on my end and folded into your final total, so there’s no separate surprise bill just to create the label. Recipients may still owe destination-country duties or taxes depending on local rules; that varies by country and isn’t something I can promise a number for in advance.
Why do some weapon props ship disassembled?
UNSC-style weapons built on a real firearm silhouette — Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, SMG, Magnum, Shotgun, Sniper — ship as finished parts for you to assemble, since export screening won’t clear them fully built. They’re designed from the start to come apart cleanly, so assembly is quick and the finished result is identical, you’re putting finished pieces together, not building a model. Covenant and Forerunner weapons like the Plasma Pistol, Needler, Energy Sword, and Carbine ship fully assembled as normal, since they don’t read as real firearms on a scan. Not sure which applies to your piece? Just ask, it’s confirmed at quote stage.
Can you build something outside of Halo?
Yes, if a printable file exists for it. Several non-Halo builds are already done (see the gallery). Send a DM to check on a specific character or franchise.
What if I need it by a specific date?
Mention it as early as possible. Whether a date is achievable depends on the current queue and the specific build, it’s better to know upfront than to assume. No guaranteed express turnaround is offered.
Do the props make sounds or fire?
No. All weapon props are non-functional, silent, no firing mechanisms. Some pieces include moving parts (trigger, bolt, removable magazine) for aesthetic/detail purposes only.
Is the paint job customizable?
Yes, full custom colors and paint schemes are included standard on any finished helmet or armor piece.
How does sizing work for armor and helmets?
Everything is custom scaled to your measurements using a simple measurement guide.
Do you offer free builds for reviews or exposure?
No, every build represents real hours and material cost. Paid commissions only, though honest reviews from actual customers are always welcome.
What if the electronics have an issue after delivery?
All electronics are hand-wired and tested before shipping. As with any handmade electronic build, an issue can occasionally surface after delivery — if that happens, just reach out and I’ll help you troubleshoot it.
Can I use a helmet or prop for airsoft or paintball?
Standard builds are 3D-printed PLA/PLA+ with a vacuum-formed visor and are not rated, tested, or certified for airsoft, paintball, or any impact use — the visor is not impact-rated in any material. If you’ll use a piece for airsoft, wear real eye protection underneath regardless of build material. Ask about the TPU option if durability matters; even then it’s a tougher material, not a certified rating.
Can these helmets be used for motorcycle or road riding?
No. These are cosplay and display helmets. They are not DOT, ECE, or otherwise certified for motorcycle, ATV, or road use, and cannot legally or safely serve as a substitute for a real motorcycle helmet.
Do armor sets come with the silicone undersuit?
No. The silicone undersuit shown in some reference photos isn’t made or sold here — armor sets include a tactical compression base layer, not a silicone suit. A silicone undersuit is a separate specialist item you’d need to source elsewhere.
Do you offer repairs after delivery?
I don’t offer a ship-it-back repair service — international shipping both ways doesn’t make sense for most fixes. If something needs attention down the line, reach out and I’m happy to walk you through how to fix it yourself, including recommended glues and methods.
How do I look after my piece once it arrives?
There’s a full Care Guide here, the same page the QR code on your thank-you card points to. It covers heat (the most common way a good build gets damaged, since printed plastic softens in a hot car), cleaning without stripping the weathering, storage, visors, batteries and LEDs, wearing and strapping armor, assembling weapons that shipped in parts, and travelling with props. It also covers when it’s worth asking me rather than attempting a fix yourself.
